Germania, il ministro dei Trasporti Dobrindt: Shoccante come i treni si sono incastrati tra loro

Centinaia di persone dei soccorsi dalla Germania e dalla vicina Austria stanno gestendo le conseguenze dello scontro tra due treni, avvenuto in Baviera questa mattina. Due treni passeggeri Meridian, verso le 07:00 di mattina sono entrati in collisione. Il bilancio provvisorio per ora è di dieci vittime e circa 150 feriti, una cinquantina dei quali versa in gravi condizioni. Due passeggeri risultano ancora scomparsi. “È stato shoccante il modo in cui i treni si sono incastrati l’uno con l’altro  ha affermato il ministro dei Trasporti tedesco, Alexander Dobrindt, parlando con i giornalisti dopo aver visitato il sito del disastro. Uno letteralmente è entrato nell’altro e la cabina del secondo è stata fatta a pezzi”. I due convogli si sono scontrati frontalmente in una sezione a singola rotaia, lungo la linea ferroviaria vicino alla città di Bad Aibling tra Holzkirchen e Rosenheim. Viaggiavano a una velocità di circa 62 miglia orarie e hanno parzialmente deragliato a seguito dell’impatto. “La rotaia è curva – ha aggiunto il capo dei trasporti federali ; di conseguenza i macchinisti non avevano contatto visivo e si sono scontrati senza frenare”. La causa della collisione deve ancora essere stabilita. A questo proposito, il ministro e gli altri funzionari tedeschi, che hanno parlato in una conferenza stampa presso il municipio di Bad Aibling, si sono rifiutati di speculare su cosa potrebbe essere andato storto e aver causato la tragedia. A bordo dei treni si trovano tre scatole nere che registrano le operazioni effettuate dai macchinisti e i dati. Due di queste sono state già ritrovate. Dobring ha spiegato che gli investigatori analizzeranno le registrazioni per capire la dinamica e le cause dell’incidente. “È un momento difficile nella storia dei trasporti ferroviari tedeschi - ha commentato – e si tratta di uno degli incidenti più mortali avvenuto negli anni recenti”. Dieci persone morirono nello stato occidentale della Sassonia-Anhalt quando un treno passeggeri si scontrò con uno merci nel 2011. In oltre un centinaio morirono nel 1998 quando un treno deragliò in Bassa Sassonia. Il portavoce del governo Steffen Seibert ha affermato che la cancelliera Angela Merkel è “afflitta e rattristata” dall’incidente e che il suo cuore è vicino a quello delle famiglie delle vittime. La Merkel ha lodato il supporto e gli sforzi fatti da centinaia di persone che hanno preso parte alla massiccia operazione di ricerca e soccorso dopo la tragedia. La collisione è avvenuta in un’area collinare e boscosa in campagna. A seguito di ciò per portare via i feriti sono stati usati elicotteri. La tratta ferroviaria coinvolta nello scontro sarà chiusa per al massimo alcuni giorni, a seguito del fatto che si stanno usando gru pesanti per rimuovere i rottami dei treni dai binari. Il ministro delle Emergenze russo, Vladimir Puchkov, ha inviato una lettera al titolare degli Interni tedesco Thomas de Maiziere, in cui si offre aiuto da parte della Federazione.

Hundreds of emergency personnel from Germany and neighboring Austria were dealing with the aftermath of a "shocking" train crash in southern Bavaria on Tuesday. The head-on collision of two Meridian passenger trains at around 7 a.m. local time (6:00GMT) killed nine people and wounded around 150, some 50 of them seriously. Two passengers are still missing, officials said. "It was shocking how both trains were wedged into each other. One of the trains literally bored into the other one, the cabin of the second one was torn apart," German Transport Minister Alexander Dobrindt told reporters at a press conference after his visit to the site. The trains rammed into each other at a single-track section of the rail line near the town of Bad Aibling between Holzkirchen and Rosenheim. They were traveling at a high speed of some 62 miles per hour and partially derailed on impact. "The rail track is curved so the train drivers had no visual contact and crashed into each other without braking," the federal transport chief said. The cause of the collision has still to be established. Dobrindt and other German officials who faced off reporters at an afternoon press conference in Bad Aibling's city hall refused to speculate about what might have gone wrong to have caused the tragedy. A total of three black boxes, which record operational functions, were aboard the trains. Two of these devices had been retrieved by the time of the press briefing. Dobrindt said investigators would analyze the recorded data to establish the cause of what is one of the country’s most lethal rail accidents in modern history. "It is a difficult hour in the rail transport history of Germany and one of the deadliest accidents in recent years," he said. Ten people died in the eastern state of Saxony-Anhalt after a passenger train rammed a freight train in 2011. Over a hundred died in 1998 when a train with a broken wheel flew off the rails in Lower Saxony. German government spokesman Steffen Seibert cited Chancellor Angela Merkel as saying she was "distressed and saddened" by the deadly rail accident near Bad Aibling. She said her heart went out to the bereaved families of the nine victims. Merkel praised the support and efforts of the hundreds of people who took part in the massive search-and-rescue operation in the aftermath of the tragedy. The collision took place in area of hilly and woody countryside. Helicopters were used to airlift injured people to safety. The affected section of the rail line will be closed for at least a number of days as emergency services use heavy-duty cranes to pull parts of the wrecked trains off track. Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov offered help to Berlin, in a letter sent earlier on Tuesday to Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere.
